Spray-on dress, anybody?

Coperni created a dress by spraying Bella Hadid’s naked body at fashion week. The tight, white, off-shoulder dress was made for her in real time from instant spray-on fabric, taking less than 10 minutes by people from the company Fabrican. A designer from Coperni then cut the product into shape, shaping the shoulder straps, trimming the hem, and cutting the leg slit. The fabric is non-woven and can supposedly be washed and re-worn. Coperni (named after Nicolaus Copernicus) labelled the demonstration an example of the “futuristic fusion of fashion and science.”

The focus on form at Coperni SS23 actually sends echoes to me of the ethereal dresses imagined by Austrian artist Gustav Klimt (1862-1918), the visionary creator that he was, perpetuating his remote role in the development of fashion design…

…Meanwhile at the top of Nostraticism…!

BCP Q: was history’s most exclusive modiste anti-fashion?
